Overview
TRC's Bath, ME Office is seeking Temporary Archaeological Field Technicians for projects in the New England and New York Region. Candidates will provide technical excellence, service to clients, and be able to travel regularly. The role may require overtime, extended workdays, and physically demanding tasks in varying environments (steep terrain, heat, cold). Field Technicians will work closely with archaeologists, environmental staff, permitting specialists, and managers in the Planning, Permitting & Licensing sector.
Successful candidates will enjoy a fast‑paced environment and develop effective solutions to project challenges. Employment is contingent upon a successful background check and drug screen.
- Ensure the quality of archaeological data, fieldwork, and paperwork.
- Perform archaeological surveys, testing, data recovery, and monitoring.
- Complete tasks in a timely fashion; coordinate with field supervisors regarding project requirements and expectations.
- Abide by TRC's policies and procedures.
- A completed or in‑progress BA degree in anthropology or archaeology.
- One or more years of experience in archaeological surveys and/or excavations.
- Ability to think critically in the field.
- Familiarity with digital field technology (GPS, ESRI Field Maps, etc.) preferred.
- A commitment to quality and safety.
- A willingness to walk long distances and perform physically demanding tasks in varying environments and conditions (e.g., steep terrain, heat, cold).
- Applicants must be willing to travel, have excellent communication skills, and work well on a team and individually.
- A valid driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle records check.

CompensationCompensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other CompensationEmployee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual discretionary bonus program, contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators that vary by year and employee.
Salary RangeUSD $20.00 – $25.00 per hour.
