This position supports the Strike and Warfare programs specifically associated with the Tomahawk Weapon System Program for a variety of U.S. Navy Warships.

Position Description

Serve as a waterfront representative, providing direct software installations on Cisco Networks and Linux computers for Weapon Control Systems (WCS).

Be responsible for loading the WCS operational software and all related software components onto the designated system hardware in accordance with approved Navy procedures and technical documentation.

Perform post-load software configuration and system setup, including the configuration of network switches, routers and display console.

Perform System Operability Verification Test (SOVT) and implement system security settings in accordance with DoD and DoN cyber‑security requirements and guidelines. Perform system administration tasks on the WCS, including verifying system performance, monitoring system logs, and troubleshooting any issues that arise during the software loading and testing process.

Conduct Pre‑Installation Check Out (PICO) of the Weapon Control System and their associated interfaces.

Monitor the progress during installation of weapon system hardware, cabling, etc. and report if it is done in accordance with the applicable drawings.

Coordinate with On‑Site Installation Coordinator (OSIC) and Ship Force on daily progress and schedule impacts.

Provide weekly highlights of efforts accomplished and being worked.

Complete additional tasks as required.

Job Requirements

Must be able to work in a shipboard industrial environment

Able to climb shipboard ladders, wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and work in adverse environments

Education/Certifications Requirements

Candidate with prior shipyard or U.S. Navy Technician experience is desirable but not required.

Experience with Unix systems or IT network is desirable but not required.

Can obtain a secret clearance.

Experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, testing and repair is desirable.

Tasking will include visiting/inspecting U.S. Navy Ships/vessels.

Communication skills in briefing at lower level of the organization and be able to work with and foster a team environment.

Analytical skills to effectively track, manage, and status multiple technical issues.

Computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite is desirable but not required.

Must have organizational and time management skills.

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $65,000 to $80,000
. This range represents a good‑faith estimate of the base salary that Thunderbolt Solutions reasonably expects to pay for this role at the time of posting.

Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the position, relevant experience, education, certifications, specific technical skills, internal equity, and current market conditions.
