If you're an experienced Ship Repair Project Manager with a strong background managing Navy and commercial vessel repair contracts, this is an opportunity to take ownership of complex projects ranging from $1M to $100M and play a key leadership role in a fast-paced marine environment.
What You'll Do- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and vessel stakeholders throughout ship repair projects.
- Manage the execution of commercial and military ship repair contracts ranging from $1M to $100M.
- Lead and supervise project management staff.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, vessel owners, executive leadership, estimators, engineers, subcontractors, supervisors, and production teams.
- Coordinate contract changes, modifications, and change orders to ensure timely implementation and project completion.
- Manage project schedules, work sequencing, resources, risks, performance, and changes.
- Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and other project resources.
- Conduct daily and weekly production, progress, coordination, and customer meetings.
- Interface directly with vessel stakeholders regarding day-to-day project matters.
- Review and interpret complex work specifications, diagrams, blueprints, technical manuals, test procedures, and NAVSEA Standard Items.
- Support estimating, scheduling, contract administration, and project planning activities.
- Monitor project performance and ensure successful completion of contract requirements.
- Maintain effective communication between project management, production, engineering, QA, EHS, contracts, and customer representatives.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of ship repair or marine industry experience.
- 5+ years of project management experience.
- Proven experience managing U.S. Navy ship repair projects.
- Experience managing federal/government contracts.
- Experience with Ship Repair Availabilities (SRA).
- Strong knowledge of Navy shipboard operations, including tag-out procedures and Navy Work Authorization Forms (WAF).
- Experience with project scheduling, work sequencing, risk management, performance management, and change management.
- Strong understanding of traditional marine engineering and shipboard equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, specifications, technical manuals, and test procedures.
- Strong estimating, contract change, and negotiation experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project or similar scheduling software.
- Excellent written, verbal, leadership, and organizational skills.
Candidates must have experience serving as a Project Manager on a U.S. Naval Surface Combatant within the last six (6) years.
Qualifying experience may include U.S. Navy surface combatant ship repair projects, including applicable DDG, LCS, CG, or other surface combatant vessels.
