The City of Bath Public Works Department is seeking a Truck Driver to join our team. If you enjoy operating heavy equipment, working outdoors, and providing essential services that keep our community safe and functioning year-round, this job is for you.

Daily tasks include operating dump trucks, snowplows, vacuum trucks, and other equipment used to maintain streets, drainage systems, and sewer infrastructure. You'll also assist with construction and maintenance projects, haul materials, respond to service calls, and help keep Bath's roads safe during winter weather.

You have experience in construction, maintenance, or repair work and are comfortable operating trucks and heavy equipment. You understand the importance of workplace safety and enjoy working as part of a team to complete projects that serve the public. You can follow verbal and written instructions, communicate effectively with coworkers and residents, and perform physically demanding work in all types of weather.

You have a valid State Driver's License and CDL endorsement, or the ability to obtain one. You take pride in your work, enjoy hands-on problem solving, and value a job well done.

• Operate dump trucks, snowplows, and other heavy and light equipment.
• Load, haul, and unload materials for maintenance and construction projects.
• Maintain and repair streets, sewers, and drainage systems.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain clean work areas.
• Assist with traffic control and respond to public works service calls as directed.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Four years of construction, maintenance, or repair experience (two in utility or street systems preferred).
• Valid Maine driver’s license and CDL (or ability to obtain).
• Knowledge of equipment operation, safety procedures, and construction practices.
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must pass pre-employment and random drug testing per federal CDL guidelines.

Involves year-round outdoor work and operation of heavy equipment in all weather conditions. Physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 100 lbs, with or without accommodation, is required.

This position is part of the Public Works Union and has a starting wage of $25.87 with the ability to level up to $27.78
