Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 6:00pm (Flexible Working Hours Available)

Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent

An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced HGV / Trailer Technician to join a well‑established, family‑owned commercial vehicle business. Working within a friendly and supportive workshop, you'll be responsible for maintaining a mixed fleet of trucks and trailers, carrying out a variety of servicing, maintenance and repair work to the highest standards.

This is a Monday to Friday role with flexible working hours, offering an excellent work‑life balance and the opportunity to join a business that genuinely values its employees.

The Role of HGV/Trailer Technician

As an HGV / Trailer Technician, your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on a mixed fleet of HGVs and trailers.
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults.
  • Completing inspections and preventative maintenance in line with DVSA standards.
  • Preparing vehicles and trailers for MOT and ensuring compliance.
  • Repairing braking, suspension, steering and drivetrain systems.
  • Completing job cards and workshop documentation accurately.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
  • Working effectively both independently and as part of a close‑knit workshop team.
The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience as an HGV Technician, Trailer Technician or HGV Mechanic.
  • A recognised Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Experience working on both trucks and trailers.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding skills.
  • A good understanding of DVSA standards and workshop health and safety.
  • A positive attitude with excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • A full UK driving licence (HGV licence would be advantageous but is not essential).
