The Pipefitter role at H&F Moir Engineering is a contract, on-site position based in Kinellar. This can be short-term or full-time. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting technical drawings and isometric diagrams, installing and assembling piping systems, and fabricating pipe sections using appropriate tools and equipment. The role involves measuring, cutting, threading, bending, and fitting pipes, as well as welding preparation where required.
Responsibilities also include working safely in accordance with company and industry standards, and collaborating with supervisors and other trades to meet project timelines. The pipefitter will work in workshop and site environments, adapting to varying project requirements within the company’s key industry sectors.
- Candidates should possess strong pipe fitting skills, including interpreting drawings, measuring, cutting, threading, bending, and assembling pipework.
- Candidates should possess fabrication-related skills such as working with metals, preparing materials for welding, and using hand and power tools safely.
- Candidates should possess practical site skills, including safe use of equipment, adherence to health and safety procedures, and awareness of industrial work environments (Oil & Gas, Subsea, Petrochemicals, Marine, Renewables, Construction).
- Relevant trade apprenticeship or vocational qualification in pipe fitting, fabrication, or mechanical engineering is beneficial.
- Previous experience in industrial or heavy engineering settings, particularly within the company’s core sectors, is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, follow instructions, and maintain clear communication with supervisors and colleagues.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to working safely at all times are essential.
