- Elicit requirements leveraging experience and discretion to apply an appropriate mix of approaches: interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high‑level information into details, abstract up from low‑level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal stakeholders to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: business requirements document, use cases, GUI, prototypes, screen and interface designs.
- Perform manual testing on occasion and as needed.
- Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans.
- Collaborate with designers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
- Ensure solutions meet stakeholder objectives by collaborating with quality assurance professionals and subject matter experts; conduct usability assessment; perform/support user acceptance testing efforts as required.
- Act as a role model and mentor for more junior members of the Business Analysis team.
- Provide business and system expertise along with research/analysis services that support the design, delivery and maintenance of quality applications and enhancements.
- Implement business requirements and process change initiatives to ensure that all specifications meet the objectives of the Company.
- Ensure process change along with appropriate communication for integration into business unit operations.
- 5+ years experience in Business Analyst or Quality Assurance Specialist role.
- 3+ years experience in insurance/financial services.
- Post secondary education or equivalent work experience.
- Proven knowledge and experience in implementation of Investment Products, especially Group Retirement Services products like RRSP, DPSP, TFSA, RPP etc.
- Direct experience with Unitrax or similar investor recordkeeping and administration systems.
- Experience analyzing, documenting, and improving client‑facing and internal administrative portals and applications related to investment products.
- Strong Requirements Elicitation and Analysis.
- Proficiency in Digital Portals and CX/UX Analysis.
- Agile and Hybrid Project Management Experience.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Communication Skills.
- Systems Thinking and Technology Know‑How.
- Strategic Thinking and Business Value Awareness.
- Courses in facilitation skills, modeling techniques and/or stakeholder management an asset.
