Role Description The Senior Tax Accountant/CPA will work on-site full time in Baton Rouge, LA, providing advanced tax preparation and review services for individual, corporate, partnership, and other entity returns. This role includes managing complex tax compliance engagements, researching tax issues, and identifying planning opportunities for clients. The Senior Tax Accountant/CPA will prepare and review financial statements, assist with year-end closing processes, and ensure that accounting records are complete and accurate.
Daily responsibilities also include supervising and mentoring junior staff, coordinating with clients to gather necessary information, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws. The role involves collaborating with partners and team members to deliver high-quality, timely work and support client relationships.
Qualifications
- Strong tax expertise, including Tax Compliance, Tax Preparation, and broad knowledge of Tax regulations.
- Solid Accounting foundation with experience preparing and reviewing Financial Statements and general ledger reconciliations.
- Active CPA license (or CPA eligibility in the near term) and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Several years of recent public accounting tax experience, ideally in a supervisory or senior-level role.
- Proficiency with tax and accounting software, as well as Microsoft Excel and related tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues to clients and team members.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines, work effectively on-site with a team, and maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
