Position Summary

Working closely with the Controller, the Accountant helps drive the day‑to‑day financial operations of the practice - maintaining accurate records, managing accounts payable and invoicing, preparing reports, and supporting the month‑end close. This role also partners with the HR Manager on payroll duties as needed and helps ensure compliance with healthcare accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

What You'll Do

General Accounting

  • Maintain accurate general ledger records and prepare journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Support the daily cash management processes and balancing of receipts.
  • Support the month‑end and year‑end close process to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and file various financial returns monthly, quarterly and annually.
  • Help maintain the integrity of financial data within the practice's accounting systems.

Accounts Payable & Receivable Support

  • Process accounts payable, verify invoices, and ensure accurate, timely payments.
  • Assist with invoices and the application of incoming payments.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, working with vendors and internal teams as needed.

Budgeting & Reporting

  • Prepare clear, accurate financial reports and schedules for review by the Controller and leadership.
  • Assist in developing and monitoring budgets and help analyze variances against actuals.
  • Support ad hon financial analysis that informs operational decision‑making.

Audit & Compliance

  • Support internal and external audit activities by preparing schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Help ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and healthcare regulatory requirements.
  • Assist the HR Manager with payroll‑related duties as needed.
What You'll Bring

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required).

Experience

  • 5+ years of accounting experience.
  • Experience in healthcare, medical practice, or laboratory accounting preferred.

Skills & Attributes

  • Proficiency with accounting software and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a close‑knit team.
  • Note:

    Healthcare‑specific accounting experience is a plus but not required - we're happy to develop the right candidate.

Hours are 7:30AM
-4PM Monday - Friday
