Intermediate Accountant

We are looking for an Intermediate Accountant to contribute to the accuracy and integrity of financial operations in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This position is ideal for an accounting specialist with a strong focus on accuracy, analytical judgment, solid technical accounting knowledge, and advanced spreadsheet capabilities. The successful candidate will play a key role in close activities, reporting, reconciliations, and ongoing support for day-to-day finance processes.

Responsibilities:

• Record accounting activity through well-prepared journal entries and keep general ledger balances current and accurate.
• Complete reconciliations on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to confirm the integrity of balance sheet and related accounts.
• Support the production of financial statements and internal reports by organizing data and validating underlying transactions.
• Review financial results, identify unusual fluctuations, and research discrepancies to help explain variances.
• Participate in month-end and year-end close cycles to ensure deadlines are met and reporting remains reliable.
• Prepare supporting schedules and documentation needed for external audits, tax filings, and other compliance-related requests.
• Reconcile banking activity, credit card transactions, and other key accounts to maintain accurate records.
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting efforts by compiling financial information and assisting with analysis.
• Use advanced Excel tools to interpret data, build useful reporting schedules, and improve accounting workflow efficiency.
• Partner with management and cross-functional teams to address accounting questions and support broader business needs.
