Staff Accountant

We are looking for a staff accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations for a long-term contract opportunity in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This position is ideal for someone who can manage core financial activities with accuracy, maintain organized records, and contribute to reliable month-end reporting. The role requires strong knowledge of accounting fundamentals and hands-on experience working with Quick Books Online in a structured environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries to ensure financial activity is recorded accurately and on schedule.
• Maintain the general ledger by reviewing account activity, reconciling balances, and resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Support month-end and periodic close processes by organizing financial data and verifying supporting documentation.
• Use Quick Books Online to manage daily accounting transactions, track account activity, and produce financial information as needed.
• Assist with the preparation of tax return documentation by gathering records and coordinating required financial details.
• Review accounting records for compliance with established accounting principles and internal reporting standards.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to clarify transaction details, improve accuracy, and support ongoing accounting needs.
