We’re seeking an Accountant Manager to join our Accounting department. This position requires strong supervisory skills, knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, strong organizational skiils as well as analytical skills, attention to detail and other accounting/auditing standards applicable to LHC.
Qualifications- Seven years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR
- Six years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus four years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR
- A bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus four years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, or statistics plus four years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR
- An advanced degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, quantitative methods, or statistics plus three years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR
- Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license plus two years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking.
- EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
- Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties- Responsible for understanding and applying all applicable rules, regulations, and policies governed by General Accepted Accounting Principles, the Governmental Accounting Standard Board, Federal Grant Programs, Office of Management and Budget circulars, the LA Department of Civil Service, and the LHC Employee Policy and Procedure Manual.
- Helps to prepare financial information to help provide insights into the use of resources by the agency.
- Develops goals and measurable performance standards for subordinate fiscal units and subordinate fiscal supervisors.
- Oversees the preparation of complex financial reports in the areas of program budget development, cost reporting, and revenue program forecasting.
- Responsible for ensuring that the general ledger accounts accurately reflect the daily payments and collections that are processed are coded to the proper asset, liability, expense, or revenue codes in the general ledger.
- Responsible for monitoring and approving federal program drawdowns, and banking transfers, plus responsible for monitoring daily cash balances to ensure adequate funding for program operations.
- Responsible for documenting staff performance for Performance Planning and Reviews, rewards and recognition, and/or disciplinary action
- Interviews and commends applicants for hire.
