Professional working proficiency in both English and Korean is required.
The Tax ensures accurate, timely, and compliant accounting, close, reporting, and financial-control processes with guidance. The role works across HPLS functions and external partners to deliver safe, compliant, timely, and sustainable results during project execution and ongoing operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Manage property tax, tax depreciation, and tax implications of capital investments and plant changes.
- Support audits, regulatory compliance, and communication with auditors, tax authorities, and advisors.
- Manage tax incentives, compliance, reporting, and related documentation and filings.
- Execute or oversee general ledger, month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
- Support AP, AR, payroll accounting, fixed assets, leases, inventory, project accounting, and cost accounting.
- Maintain accounting policies, chart of accounts, close calendars, supporting schedules, and internal controls.
- Coordinate audit requests, statutory requirements, tax support, and issue remediation.
- Analyze unusual transactions, account variances, and system/interface exceptions.
- Improve ERP workflows, reporting accuracy, documentation, segregation of duties, and process efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, analyze information, document work, and collaborate across functions.
- Working proficiency with Microsoft 365 and job-relevant enterprise or technical systems.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English and work effectively in a multicultural environment.
- Professional working proficiency in both English and Korean is required.
- Public accounting or manufacturing accounting experience.
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, ERP systems, and capital-project accounting.
- CPA, CMA, or progress toward certification.

Working Conditions andPhysical Requirements
The standard work schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; however, work hours may be changed or adjusted based on operational, project, commissioning, emergency, or business needs. This position requires on-site work and is not eligible for remote work. Work is primarily performed at the Baton Rouge location and may include office, construction, commissioning, and/or operating-plant environments depending on assignment. Must be able to comply with site PPE, security, and safety requirements;
travel between HPLS locations and vendor, partner, or project sites may be required. Reasonable accommodations will be considered in accordance with applicable law.
