Position: Administrative Coordinator 2-EC-WAE

Office of Early Childhood Operations

Job Focus Area

The Child Care Assistance Program oversees the administration of child care subsidies and ensures provider compliance with state and federal regulations. As Administrative Coordinator 2, you will be responsible for identifying, categorizing, and managing incoming correspondence-whether scanned, mailed, or emailed-directly supporting eligibility determinations and program integrity.

You'll be instrumental in ensuring families receive timely and correct information about their eligibility for the Child Care Assistance Program, directly contributing to the LDOE's mission to support Louisiana's children and families.

Candidates with the following experience are encouraged to apply:

* One year of experience in which clerical work was a major duty.

* Attention to detail.

* Able to use independent judgment in support of the staff members and/or operations of an organizational unit or program.

* Able to follow detailed procedural guidelines in completing well-defined duties.

One year of experience in administrative services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:

Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for six months of the required experience.

Job Duties:

* Accurately entering applicant information into a database or case management system. This includes managing both digital and physical files, ensuring all documents are organized and easily accessible.

* Handling a large volume of communication, including phone calls and emails, from applicants, about the status of applications

* Application Review: review each application and all supporting documents (like pay stubs, school schedules, and tax returns) to ensure they are complete. If something is missing, you'll need to notify the applicant.

* Ensuring the authenticity and accuracy of all provided documents.

Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type:
This is a part-time WAE position and is not eligible for benefits or paid holidays and has a limit to the number of hours worked (maximum of 1245 hours) in a 12-month period, beginning with the first day of employment. The hours belong to the employee, and any available hours follow the employee.

Work Location:

The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office.

Work Schedule:

Work hours are Monday -- Friday. Work hours will be determined.

Compensation:
The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make over their career and not the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
