Job Description

The Senior Scholarships Coordinator position within Louisiana State University’s Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships will play a key collaborative role in advancing the university and meeting the student access objectives. The individual, with general oversight from the Assistant Director of Scholarships, will be responsible for daily operational management of the Award Management system for philanthropic and institutional based scholarships, communicating with students and departments regarding scholarship administration in the Award Management system and integration of awards from award management system into the Workday student SIS.

Award

Management Scholarship Operations (75%)
  • Serve as the Scholarships unit’s centralized scholarship expert for department communication and interaction. Supports colleges and departments with establishing new scholarships and implementing them into Award Management system.
  • Train departments and users on administration of the Award Management system.
  • Update scholarship records and documentation and run queries for scholarships.
  • Work in close coordination with the LSU Foundation to resolve issues in Award Management system for users and work with consultants as needed. Interpret and enter donor agreements into Award Management system in coordination with the LSU Foundation support staff.
  • Communicate changes and updates to system users as needed.
  • Reconcile scholarship financial accounts as needed.
  • Responsible for daily operations of Award Management for scholarships.
Scholarship Administration (15%)
  • Coordinate institutional scholarship swap process for the A&M campus. This includes matching students with institutional scholarships to foundation scholarships, as well as working with all departments on campus to offer a centralized swap process.
  • Support the scholarships unit in scholarship awarding and processing of awards in the new Workday student SIS system.
  • Participate in Workday design session meetings as support of the integration and continue to collaborate with stakeholders to continually improve processes.
  • Work collaboratively with the LSU Foundation as a close partner.
Special Projects as Assigned (10%)
  • Support and assist the Institutional aid match process and annual awarding of philanthropic scholarships.
  • Represent LSU and the Office of Enrollment Management & Student Success at professional functions and recruiting events.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree and one year of related experience.
Ideal Candidate Qualities
  • Experience working in a student services setting in higher education.
  • Knowledge of Award Management systems or related scholarship administration software.
  • Strong team orientation, effective interpersonal skills, and superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to data‑driven decision‑making, including effective analytical skills and proven results in achieving objectives and goals.
Special Qualifications
  • As with all LSU employees, due to this position title and/or responsibilities, this position has an obligation to assist students in the acquisition of necessary services. Should a student appear in need of or seek assistance with issues of an emotional, behavioral, or mental health related matter, they should be referred to the proper service within the Student Health Center. In situations where the student creates an impression that they are a danger to themselves or others, the advisor should immediately contact the Care Team, the Dean of Students, or the appropriate law enforcement agency.

    The employee, outside of rights contained within FERPA, should create no impression of client or patient confidentiality.
