At the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission, our mission is to administer the State's highway safety grant program. Louisiana's highway safety program is designed to reduce traffic crashes and the resulting deaths, injuries, and property damage.
The Louisiana Highway Safety Commission (LHSC) is seeking an Administrative Coordinator 4 to join our team - an initiative-taking, forward-thinking team that moves our mission forward using focus and collaboration. This position will serve the LHSC as the Administrative Coordinator 4 and serve as the office manager, primary time administrator, purchasing agent, serve as point of contact for the LHSC fleet vehicles, coordinate public notices and meeting logistics for the Governor's appointed Highway Safety Commission, and provide primary administrative support to the LHSC staff.
This position is critical to the administrative functions of the LHSC and ensuring compliance with state and federal timelines.

Three years of experience in administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Job Duties:
As an LHSC Administrative Coordinator, you'll help create a positive first impression for every person who walks through our doors. In this role, you will:
* Provide primary administrative support for the LHSC, which includes a variety of complex and technical administrative services requiring interaction with the Executive Director, Deputy Director, Executive Staff Officer, LHSC Staff, other traffic safety partners, and the general public.
* Receive incoming calls on the LHSC main phone line and manage the schedule to ensure coverage of phones during business hours.
* Serve as primary time administrator for all LHSC staff and maintain all related files in compliance with Department regulations; serve as LHSC safety compliance officer and maintain LHSC staff training records.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for LHSC fleet vehicles and maintain all related recordkeeping.
* Serve as the LHSC purchasing agent and coordinate travel for the LHSC Executive Director and other LHSC staff as required.
* Manage logistics for the Commission meetings and related pre-meeting and follow-up reporting requirements.
* Compose and type correspondence involving routine and non-routine matters as directed.

Work Schedule:
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
