Join Our Team at DCFS:Accounting Technician
This position is located within the Fiscal Services/Financial Management section of the Department of Children and Family Services. This unit provides financial services to all appropriations within the department.

Minimum QualificationsThree years of experience or training in accounting, auditing, bookkeeping, or financial operations or computations.
Experience SubstitutionEvery 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience.

Job DutiesJob Duties and Other Information
- Receive checks, money orders and cash for DCFS offices statewide and audits payments.
- Balances electronic payments.
- Completes deposit forms.
- Audits debit and credit card statements for the department and complies reports.
- Communicates with personnel at the State Treasurer's Office.
- Performs other duties as needed for the smooth operation of the department.
Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. This position may be filled as a probational appointment or a job appointment that may last up to 48 months. Job appointments may convert to probational appointments. Also, it may be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months or by promotion of a permanent classified employee.

Schedule:
Typically, work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday. Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position you are applying for. Some positions require working shifts.
