About This Job

The Division of Administrative Law is Louisiana's centralized administrative hearings panel. When disputes arise between certain state agencies and the people and entities they regulate, administrative law judges at DAL provide fair, prompt, and orderly adjudication. The Administrative Coordinator 4 position supports adjudicatory operations by processing and docketing case documents, maintaining accurate electronic case files, and transmitting administrative law judges' orders and decisions.

Communicates professionally with staff, attorneys, clients, the public, and partner agencies to support case activities. An ideal candidate should possess the following competencies:

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of experience in administrative services. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties

  • Process incoming mail and appropriately docket all case-related documents, pleadings, correspondence, etc., as instructed.
  • Forwards any unrelated documents, with guidance from the Deputy Clerk, if necessary.
  • Dockets appeal requests filed with DAL as instructed.
  • Mails and/or transmits administrative law judges' orders and decisions related to adjudications.
  • Ensures information integrity in the electronic case management system database by timely, thoroughly, and accurately performing data entry and docketing communications and other documents into the appropriate case file.
  • Scans and dockets evidence and other documents received during adjudicatory proceedings.
  • Communicates professionally and effectively by mail, telephone, or e-mail with other members of the DAL office, attorneys, clients, members of the public, and other state agency representatives

The maximum amount listed for the salary range is the amount a person can make throughout their career in the position and not the maximum amount we are allowed to pay at the time of hire. Other Important Information:

  • Experience working in a legal setting
  • Proficiency in data entry and auditing
  • Advanced communication skills
  • Advanced computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office products
