The Nexus Community Operations Manager serves as a key operational leader for Nexus Louisiana’s facility at 440 N Third Street. This role is responsible for the day‑to‑day execution of facility operations, including oversight of the event space, mail operations, and direct support to members to ensure a high‑quality experience across the building.
In addition to facility leadership, the Nexus Community Operations Manager provides general operational and program support for Nexus programming throughout the year. The role also supports the Chief Administrative Officer in preparing for and executing board and committee meetings, helping ensure strong internal coordination, follow‑through, and service across the organization.
Key Responsibilities Facility Operations and Member Support- Oversee the daily operations of the Nexus facility at 440 N Third Street, ensuring the building runs smoothly, professionally, and efficiently.
- Serve as a primary operational point of contact for members, responding to needs, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating solutions.
- Support a high‑quality member experience by maintaining strong communication, responsiveness, and attention to operational details.
- Coordinate with internal staff, members, vendors, and service providers to address facility‑related needs and maintain operational continuity.
- Manage the day‑to‑day operation and scheduling coordination of the event space.
- Support event logistics including room setup, operational readiness, vendor coordination, and post‑event reset.
- Ensure shared spaces are organized, functional, and aligned with Nexus standards for hospitality and professionalism.
- Help establish and maintain procedures for use of the event space and other shared building resources.
- Oversee incoming and outgoing mail operations for the facility and support efficient internal distribution processes.
- Maintain routine operational systems and office workflows that support staff and members.
- Monitor supply levels and coordinate purchasing or replenishment of operational materials as needed.
- Help document and improve operational procedures to strengthen consistency and efficiency.
- Provide operational support for Nexus programs and initiatives throughout the year.
- Assist with event and program logistics, scheduling, communications coordination, and on‑site execution as needed.
- Support cross‑functional coordination to ensure programs are well‑executed and aligned with organizational priorities.
- Contribute to special projects and operational initiatives led by the Chief Administrative Officer.
- Assist the Chief Administrative Officer in preparing for board and committee meetings.
- Support the development and assembly of meeting materials, agendas, logistics, and follow‑up action tracking.
- Help ensure meetings are well‑organized, professionally supported, and executed with strong attention to detail.
- Provide day‑of operational support for meetings, including room readiness, hospitality, materials, and coordination.
- Partner with staff across the organization to support effective day‑to‑day operations and program delivery.
- Maintain strong internal communication and follow‑through on assigned responsibilities.
- Identify operational challenges proactively and elevate recommendations or issues appropriately.
- Contribute to a culture of service, accountability, and operational excellence across Nexus.
- Strong alignment with the Nexus mission and a commitment to serving members who are building innovative, high‑growth companies in Louisiana.
- 5+ years of relevant full‑time experience in operations, facility management, office administration, hospitality, event operations, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment with professionalism and good judgment.
- Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail, with the ability to follow through consistently on operational tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with members, staff, vendors, and external stakeholders.
- Experience supporting meetings, events, or executive‑level operational coordination preferred.
- Ability to solve problems independently, respond calmly to changing needs, and maintain a high standard of customer service.
- Proficiency with common workplace technology platforms and systems used for scheduling, communication, and operational coordination.
