Position: ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR 1/2/3/4

Administrative Coordinator

The Administrative Coordinator will provide administrative support for the office of Workers' Compensation Second Injury Board Compliance Unit, requiring a working knowledge of Workers' Compensation SIB procedures and exhibit effective communication skills. The Office of Workers' Compensation Administration (OWCA) in Louisiana oversees the enforcement and administration of workers' compensation laws, aiming to support early return-to-work efforts and improve workplace safety. The department manages disputed claims, conducts hearings, reviews medical treatment disputes, and investigates fraud through collaborative efforts like the GAME ON task force.

Job Duties and Other Information:

  • Input new claims into Access database as received, and distribute it to the assigned PCO within five days of receiving the Notice of Claim with Second Injury Fund (Form

    A).
  • Coordinate annual file inventory checks in each unit.
  • Prepare and post the monthly Board Meeting agenda.
  • Compose Board denial and approval letters for (3) program compliance officers to be mailed out at least 30 days prior to the meeting (approximately 100 or so per month)
  • Record each board meeting and transcribe the minutes within 7-10 days after the meeting and send to supervisor for approval.
  • Mail out certified letters for each claim that was denied within 5-7 days after board meeting Handle all calls (transfer when appropriate) and distribute mail for unit.
