Position Summary:
The Admissions Associate assists with the admission of patients by coordinating inquiry calls and admissions between referral sources and clinical staff.
Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pmQualifications:
- Education:
Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum: 1 year of experience
- Preferred: 1-3 years of experience
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in related field. Will be required to maintain CPI and CPR certifications.
Work experience:
Experience in a mental health or substance abuse treatment setting preferred.
Must have excellent telephone etiquette; excellent organizational and time management skills. Completes assignments accurately, in a timely manner, and within procedural guidelines. Organizes and prioritizes work. Must be computer literate.
InterpersonalSkills:
Must have strong communication skills (oral and written); positive people skills; team player; tact and cooperativeness; initiative; ability to handle fast-paced workload; ability to work in environment with frequent interruptions. Displays self-direction by seeking solutions to problems. Seeks out and offers new ideas for improving processes. Deals constructively with stress. Attention to detail required.

Follow policies/procedures such as appearance, dress, safety, appropriate patient/staff interactions, etc. Works positively with both internal and external customers. Is punctual in all aspects of work. Adheres to attendance policy.

EssentialJob Duties
Assist Admission’s Supervisor with the admissions process:
- Answer incoming telephone inquiries.
- Gather necessary information from caller via fax, mail, phone, etc.
- Consult with professional staff regarding appropriateness of admission or suitable referral sources.
- Obtain/verify financial arrangements/third party payer coverage.
- Assist in arranging transportation from facility.
- Assist in communication with other departments regarding admissions.
- Complete all necessary paperwork involved with inquiry/admissions process.
- Assist Admissions Supervisor in compiling all inquiry calls to the facility and track the final disposition.
- Establishing and maintaining excellent referral communications.
- Assist with other duties as assigned/required.
Indicate the degree to which the position is guided by the Supervisor/Manager:
Procedures well established. Few decisions made. Supervisor readily available as needed.
Physical Effort Requirement:Physical Effort found in normal office environment.
