Admission Lead Coordinator

Role Summary

The ADMISSION LEAD COORDINATOR (onsite, full-time) leads the Intake/Admissions function to ensure timely, compliant psychiatric admissions and sustained referral conversion.

Key responsibilities include reviewing intake packets; conducting community assessments; collecting and reporting QAPI intake data; maintaining Intake staff schedules and providing shift coverage when needed; setting performance goals, coaching, and accountability for intake staff; partnering with the administrator to recruit, train, and onboard intake team members; maintaining relationships with ERs statewide and community referral sources to support an average paying daily census of 23 in a 24-bed facility;

and communicating admission needs with physicians and the Director of Nursing.

• - 2–3 years psychiatric patient admissions experience preferred
• - Proficient in Microsoft Office
• - Able to work with minimal supervision; organized and self-disciplined
• - Strong documentation and communication skills

Your day begins by triaging new referrals, confirming what’s missing, and prioritizing follow-ups that move cases toward decision. You balance time between the facility and the community, keeping documentation current and ensuring intake metrics are captured cleanly for QAPI. Midday often includes brief huddles to align staffing coverage, remove workflow barriers, and check progress toward individual targets. Throughout the afternoon you stay close to referral partners—especially ER contacts—providing clear updates, answering clinical/administrative questions, and keeping internal stakeholders informed on likely admits.

You end the day with a quick review of pipeline status and next-day priorities so the team starts the morning organized and ready.
