Mission
The Louisiana State Board of Examiners of Psychologists (LSBEP) is a state regulatory agency responsible for the licensure and regulation of psychology professionals in Louisiana. The LSBEP is created to safeguard life, health, property, and the public welfare of the state, and to protect the people of this state against unauthorized, unqualified and improper application of psychology.
Overview of RoleThis position provides administrative and operational support to the Executive Director and assists with the day-to-day licensing and regulatory activities of the Louisiana State Board of Examiners of Psychologists. The position serves as an important point of contact for applicants, licensees, and members of the public and assists with processing applications and documents, maintaining accurate records, responding to routine inquiries, and supporting general office operations and special projects.
Success in this position requires strong organizational and time-management skills, attention to detail, professional communication, sound judgment, initiative, adaptability, integrity, and the ability to follow established policies and procedures. The successful candidate should be comfortable learning and using technology and able to manage multiple responsibilities independently while recognizing when a matter requires guidance or escalation.
This position offers an opportunity to gain experience in professional licensing, healthcare regulation, and state government while working closely with the Executive Director in a small professional office. It is particularly well suited for someone who enjoys helping people, values public service, and is interested in developing increasing knowledge and responsibility over time.
A bachelor's degree, associate degree, or postsecondary certificate in healthcare administration, business administration, public administration, management, or a related field is preferred. Relevant administrative or professional experience may substitute for education.

- Must be able to successfully complete a criminal background check as a condition of employment.
- Experience in healthcare, professional licensing, state government, regulatory administration, higher education, legal administration, credentialing, or another professional office environment is preferred but not required.
- Applicants should be proficient with Microsoft Office applications and comfortable learning web-based systems and new technology.
- Recent graduates who demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and technology skills are encouraged to apply.
- Assisting applicants, licensees, and members of the public with routine questions and Board processes;
- Processing applications and other licensing documentation and maintaining accurate electronic and paper records;
- Providing administrative support for licensing and regulatory activities, meetings, correspondence, and routine office operations;
- Using the Board's online licensing, forms, and document-management systems; and
- Assisting the Executive Director with special projects and other administrative needs.
