Position: ADMINISTRATIVE PROGRAM SPECIALIST-B

The Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV) performs functions of the state relative to the examination and licensing of operators of motor vehicles, the suspension and revocation of such licenses, issuance of vehicle title and registration certificates, license plates for all motor vehicles operated upon the highways of the state, recordation of liens against vehicles, and the collection of sales/use tax and other appropriate fees, all in accordance with applicable laws.

this position:

The Office of Motor Vehicles Administrative Program Specialist B is responsible for coordinating and managing OMV’s statewide Property Control, Fleet, and Safety Programs. The position develops, implements, and revises necessary procedures for all areas of focus under the supervision of the Statewide Program Manager 1 in the Project Management Office (PMO). The incumbent of this position should have knowledge of the OTS billing and the property inventory processes, including use of LaGov.

The incumbent of this position should also have broad knowledge of the Louisiana Property Assistance Agency. Necessary qualities include efficiency, organization, attention to detail, professionalism, proactivity, and the ability to work independently.

    The ability to follow, reinforce, adapt, or develop policies and procedures to maintain compliance with federal and state legal requirements, State Civil Service rules, and organizational policies.
  • Four years of experience in administrative services; OR
  • Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus one year of experience in administrative services; OR
  • A bachelor's degree plus one year of experience in administrative services; OR
  • An advanced degree.
  • EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
  • Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties:
  • - Perform responsible duties related to the operation, coordination, and management of Inventory Control, Safety, and Fleet Operations.
  • - Establish, implement, and revise program standards and guidelines as necessary.
  • - Accurately and timely enter information into LAGOV and other relevant systems.
  • - Coordinate and manage the statewide Property Control, Fleet, and Safety Programs for the Office of Motor Vehicles.
  • - Develop, implement, and revise necessary procedures across all areas of focus under the supervision of the Statewide Program Manager 1 in the Project Management Office (PMO).
  • - Maintain knowledge of OTS billing and property inventory processes, including the use of LaGov.
  • - Stay informed about the operations of the Louisiana Property Assistance Agency.
Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type: This posting may be used to fill a probational appointment or job appointment.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. .
