Job DescriptionWe are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Employee Benefits Account Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for employer clients, acting as a trusted advisor and strategic partner. You’ll manage renewals, market benefit programs, educate clients on compliance requirements, and ensure every account receives exceptional service and support.
The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, deep knowledge of employee benefits, and a passion for helping organizations create benefit programs that make a difference for their employees.
Daily Responsibilities- Serve as the main point of contact for employer clients, providing proactive, high-touch support.
- Manage a book of business across medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and ancillary lines of coverage.
- Coordinate all aspects of renewals, including gathering updated census data, analyzing carrier quotes, and preparing client presentations.
- Market and place new benefit programs that align with client goals and budgets.
- Educate clients on compliance topics such as ERISA, ACA, COBRA, and FMLA.
- Prepare employee communication materials for open enrollment and benefits changes.
- Assist with claims, billing, and administrative inquiries.
- Collaborate with producers and brokers on strategic planning, cost containment, and retention initiatives.
- Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date records within the agency management system.
- Stay informed about industry trends, carrier updates, and regulatory developments to provide proactive client guidance.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Licensing:
Active Life & Health license (or ability to obtain within 90 days). - Experience:
Minimum 25 years in employee benefits account management or a related role. - Strong understanding of group medical and ancillary benefit products.
- Familiarity with agency management systems and document management tools.
- Excellent communication, relationship management, and presentation skills.
- In-depth knowledge of benefit plan structures and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities with precision.
- Collaborative, professional, and self-driven with a client-first mindset.
- Proficiency in MS Office and agency management systems (Hawk Soft experience a plus).
