Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Professional working proficiency in both English and Korean is required.
The Payroll & Benefits delivers accurate payroll and dependable benefits administration while maintaining compliance, controls, and responsive employee service with guidance. The role works across HPLS functions and external partners to deliver safe, compliant, timely, and sustainable results during project execution and ongoing operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage payroll processing and employee payments.
- Manage employee benefits, including health insurance and retirement plans.
- Manage payroll and benefits compliance, reporting, and employee support.
- Process payroll inputs, time and attendance, deductions, earnings, taxes, garnishments, and off-cycle adjustments.
- Audit payroll results, reconcile registers and funding, resolve exceptions, and maintain approval evidence.
- Administer health, welfare, retirement, leave, and related employee-benefit processes.
- Support enrollments, qualifying events, vendor files, invoices, eligibility, and employee inquiries.
- Prepare payroll and benefit reports, reconciliations, compliance filings, and audit support.
- Maintain confidential records and improve HRIS/payroll controls, procedures, service levels, and employee communications.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent relevant experience.
- No prior full-time experience required; relevant internship, co-op, academic project, military, or technical experience is valued.
- Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, analyze information, document work, and collaborate across functions.
- Working proficiency with Microsoft 365 and job-relevant enterprise or technical systems.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English and work effectively in a multicultural environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional working proficiency in both English and Korean is required.
- U.S. payroll or benefits administration experience.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now or a comparable HRIS/payroll platform.
- FPC, CPP, CEBS, SHRM, or related credential.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
The standard work schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; however, work hours may be changed or adjusted based on operational, project, commissioning, emergency, or business needs. This position requires on-site work and is not eligible for remote work. Work is primarily performed at the Baton Rouge location and may include office, construction, commissioning, and/or operating-plant environments depending on assignment. Must be able to comply with site PPE, security, and safety requirements;
travel between HPLS locations and vendor, partner, or project sites may be required. Reasonable accommodations will be considered in accordance with applicable law.
