Barber Brothers Contracting is looking for an experienced Heavy Highway Superintendent in the Baton Rouge, LA area. This position is designed to manage multiple road construction projects in and around the area. The ideal candidate should have multiple years of experience working in a superintendent role in a fast paced environment. Handling multiple road projects with an advanced level of scheduling of specialized construction crews and equipment is required.
Asphalt experience is a plus.
This Superintendent is responsible for the timely completion of multiple civil projects within an allotted budget. The position will be responsible for scheduling the project activities and directly supervise various foreman in the construction of all earthwork, roadwork, or other performed work.
Other duties include:- Coordinate crew production through directives given to foremen.
- Maintain construction schedule while identifying and solving problems.
- Order materials and schedule inspections as necessary throughout the process.
- Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices and rectifies job site hazards immediately.
- Responsible for all employees and contractors adhering to company safety policies.
- Maintain clean, organized job sites and equipment.
- Responsible of daily activities reports and tracking materials.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 8+ years’ experience in Civil / Heavy Highway industry.
- High School Diploma/GED required. College Degree preferred.
- Must be able to be work non-routine hours.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite;
Word, Excel, & Outlook. - Must possess a current driver’s license.
- Successful completion of pre-employment MVR, background, and drug screen.
