Site Manager, Construction Manager/ Foreman
We are representing one of Baton Rouge’s premier and oldest active commercial general contractor. Established over 80 years ago, this company is a regional cornerstone built on quality, safety, and community relationships that span generations. With a diverse portfolio covering landmark academic campuses, medical facilities, and Class-A corporate headquarters, they combine the robust resources of a major firm with the tight-knit, collaborative culture of a regional leader.
If you are a Project Manager who values doing the job right the first time and wants to build a legacy you can point to on your daily drive, this is your next home.
Why this role is different:
You won't be treated as a replaceable gear. Our client operates under a simple philosophy: hire good people and empower them with the autonomy to run their projects.
As a Commercial Project Manager, you will lead projects from pre-construction through closeout. You'll be the primary point of contact for owners, architects, and subcontractors, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on budget, and on schedule.
- Project Execution:
Own the full life cycle of commercial projects ($5M to $30M+), utilizing delivery methods such as Design-Build, Design-Assist, and Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR). - Schedule & Budget Ownership:
Drive the project schedule, manage change orders, oversee cost-control measures, and ensure project profitability. - Subcontractor Management:
Qualify, negotiate with, and coordinate local subcontractors to ensure high-quality workmanship and strict adherence to safety standards. - Collaborative Liaison:
Partner closely with site superintendents, architects, engineers, and clients to resolve design, constructability, or site challenges proactively. - Safety & Quality Assurance:
Partner with the field safety team and quality officers to ensure the job site remains completely incident-free and matches the firm's outstanding standards.
What We’re Looking For (Requirements)
- Experience:
5+ years of dedicated project management experience within commercial construction (working for a General Contractor is required). - Project History: A proven track record of managing ground-up commercial projects, structural steel builds, or specialized methods like tilt-up concrete.
- Local Network:
Strong, existing relationships with Baton Rouge and Gulf Coast area subcontractors and suppliers. - Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is highly preferred (equivalent field experience will be considered). - Software Savvy:
Proficiency with modern construction management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, or similar scheduling and estimating tools). - Leadership Style: A proactive communicator who leads by example, values collaboration over conflict, and possesses a "solutions, not excuses" mindset.
