Construction Estimator

5-8 years of Project Estimation experience is required

We are seeking a Project Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimate for access and civil site work construction projects.

The Project Estimator will be responsible for analysing plans and specifications, performing quantity takeoff and preparing turnkey estimates and proposals associated with various civil construction projects, including clearing, site access, site preparation, civil works and concrete foundations.

In this role, the Project Estimator works closely with customers and the project team to prepare detailed cost estimates that will ultimately guide the planning and execution of construction projects across industrial, commercial, energy, and infrastructure markets.

• Review and interpret project plans and specifications.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor and equipment.
• Site visits to gather data and assess project requirements.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor’s and subcontractor’s bids and negotiate terms.
• Analyze project requirements to identify potential risks and cost-saving opportunities.
• Conduct risk assessments and provide feedback on potential challenges and opportunities.
• Prepare initial project schedule and execution plan.
• Collaborate with owners, engineers, and project personnel.
• Prepare and submit bid proposals to clients and/or project stakeholders.

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of construction materials and methods.
• Experience with estimating & scheduling software such as HCSS, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Primavera and proficient in Microsoft’s Office Suite of programs is a plus.
• Attention to detail and accuracy with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple estimates simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
