The Vision
Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center is strategically expanding its Gastroenterology service line and is recruiting physicians in two key areas:
Advanced Endoscopy and Inpatient GI (Hospitalist Model).
As the region s tertiary referral center and academic partner of Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, we are building a comprehensive GI platform designed to support high-acuity care, procedural innovation, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
This is a foundational growth opportunity not a replacement role with executive support and institutional investment.
Advanced EndoscopyWe are seeking a fellowship-trained Advanced Endoscopist to help establish and grow a regional referral program.
Clinical Focus- Therapeutic ERCP
- EUS (diagnostic and interventional)
- Complex polypectomy
- EMR / ESD
- Management of complex pancreaticobiliary disease
- Dedicated endoscopy suites within a high-volume tertiary hospital
- Direct collaboration with surgical oncology, hepatobiliary surgery, interventional radiology, and oncology
- Opportunity to define referral pathways across the Capital Region
- Institutional support for equipment acquisition and program growth
- Optional academic and teaching involvement
This role is ideal for a physician who wants to build a true advanced platform with long-term strategic backing.
GI HospitalistWe are also recruiting physicians who prefer a focused inpatient GI model.
Clinical Responsibilities- Inpatient consult service
- Management of acute GI bleeding
- Endoscopic evaluation of hospitalized patients
- Close partnership with ICU, hospital medicine, and surgical services
- Predictable scheduling (block model options available)
- Shared call model
- No outpatient clinic responsibilities (unless desired)
- High-acuity tertiary environment
This position is ideal for physicians who thrive in procedural intensity and acute care medicine.
Qualifications- MD or DO
- Board Certified / Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
- Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship preferred for Advanced track
- Eligible for Louisiana medical licensure
