Advanced Endoscopist or GI Hospitalist – Academic Tertiary Center

The Vision

Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center is strategically expanding its Gastroenterology service line and is recruiting physicians in two key areas:
Advanced Endoscopy and Inpatient GI (Hospitalist Model).

As the region s tertiary referral center and academic partner of Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, we are building a comprehensive GI platform designed to support high-acuity care, procedural innovation, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

This is a foundational growth opportunity not a replacement role with executive support and institutional investment.

We are seeking a fellowship-trained Advanced Endoscopist to help establish and grow a regional referral program.

• Therapeutic ERCP
• EUS (diagnostic and interventional)
• Complex polypectomy
• EMR / ESD
• Management of complex pancreaticobiliary disease

• Dedicated endoscopy suites within a high-volume tertiary hospital
• Direct collaboration with surgical oncology, hepatobiliary surgery, interventional radiology, and oncology
• Opportunity to define referral pathways across the Capital Region
• Institutional support for equipment acquisition and program growth
• Optional academic and teaching involvement

This role is ideal for a physician who wants to build a true advanced platform with long-term strategic backing.

We are also recruiting physicians who prefer a focused inpatient GI model.

• Inpatient consult service
• Management of acute GI bleeding
• Endoscopic evaluation of hospitalized patients
• Close partnership with ICU, hospital medicine, and surgical services

• Predictable scheduling (block model options available)
• Shared call model
• No outpatient clinic responsibilities (unless desired)
• High-acuity tertiary environment

This position is ideal for physicians who thrive in procedural intensity and acute care medicine.

• MD or DO
• Board Certified / Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
• Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship preferred for Advanced track
• Eligible for Louisiana medical licensure
