Job Description:

PURPOSE:

Full time nursing faculty assume responsibility for the delivery of classroom, laboratory and clinical instruction as well as advising, scholarship and service requirements within ASN programs. This is a 9-month non-tenure track academic position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Teaching in ASN Program (Primary)

* Incorporate student learning teaching/learning strategies in classroom and lab/clinical instruction.

* Participate in Department of Nursing and University Committees.

* Ensure student compliance with health requirements.

* Participate in student counseling and advising.

* Schedule office hours in compliance with University Policy.

* Evaluate student performance in classroom and clinical courses.

* Develop course schedules and syllabi in compliance with department and University policies.

* Exhibits a strong commitment to nursing student success and to LSUA

* Demonstrates excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to work independently.

* Follows faculty policies and guidelines in compliance with University and School of Nursing Policy

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Master's degree in nursing

* Two years clinical experience as register nurse

* Active Louisiana RN license or Multi-State License

* CPR certified with documented health compliance as required of nursing faculty
