Job Description:

The Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies invites applications for a tenure-track position in Asian Religion and Philosophy, to begin in Fall 2026. We are open to candidates whose work focuses on any East Asian, South Asian, and/or Southeast Asian tradition(s) in any historical era.

The successful candidate will have an active record of research and publication, a dedication to undergraduate teaching and mentorship, a commitment to service for the department, college, and university, and a willingness to contribute to a vibrant and collaborative culture. Moreover, the successful candidate will teach two courses per semester (four courses per year)-one general education course (either "Asian Religions" or "Religions of the World") and one upper- level course in Asian Religions and Philosophy.

A Ph.D. or equivalent degree with a relevant specialization is required for appointment to assistant professor. An offer of employment is contingent on a satisfactory pre-employment background check. The deadline for submission is November 15, 2025 but review of applications may continue until the position is filled. Preliminary interviews will take place over Zoom.
