Job Description:

The Louisiana State University Future Scholars (LSUFS) Program, housed in the Office of Pre-College Programs aims to remove barriers to college enrollment while providing the support and resources needed to complete high school and attend and graduate from Louisiana State University. Students that complete the program will be awarded a full tuition scholarship to Louisiana State University.

The Senior Pre-College Program Coordinator plays a pivotal leadership role in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the LSUFS Program. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Pre-College Programs, this position provides strategic oversight, ensures program excellence, and mentors junior staff. The Senior Coordinator is responsible for high-level planning, data-driven decision-making, and stakeholder engagement to advance the program's mission and outcomes.

This Senior Coordinator will be required to report to and help carry out the operation, vision, and values of the Office of Enrollment Management & Student Success.

The Office of Pre-College Programs prioritizes the following:

* Access to support networks, resources, and higher education;

* Connecting students with mentors (LSU faculty, staff, and students) who can support, guide, and encourage them as they transition from secondary to post-secondary spaces;

* Helping students explore personal and academic values as well as career goals while engaging in social & civic engagement activities;

* Educating students and their families about college funding options, the college application process, and transition support;

* Preparing students to reach their full potential at the flagship.

Caseload Management (30%)

* Provide learner support to undergraduate students, individually and on holistically on college matriculation topics, providing front line advocacy and support. This includes meeting with students one‑on‑one to discuss academic, personal, financial, and transitional challenges that may impact their progression, navigating campus processes and connecting them with appropriate campus resources (e.g., counseling, financial aid advisors, academic departments), and advocate on their behalf when barriers arise.

* Proactively handles logistics for incoming freshman and continuing students including coordination of admissions, matriculation efforts, registration and enrollment, financial aid and graduation concerns, all in close collaboration with individual Colleges, the Graduate School, Admissions, Financial Aid, and other applicable departments.

* Assists students with understanding their curriculum flowchart, interpret degree requirements, building a draft schedule, reviewing course options, and preparing questions for meetings with their assigned academic advisor.

* Engage in regular communication with assigned populations to provide updates and address concerns. Communicate important deadlines and policy issues to online students.

* Track the academic progress and overall well‑being of assigned student populations. When students are not progressing appropriately toward graduation, the senior coordinator will initiate outreach, identify challenges, develop success plans, connect students to campus resources, and maintain ongoing follow‑up to support improvement.

Programming (25%)

* Facilitate and support LSUFS site participants with networking, mentorship, and college readiness activities

* Assist the Assistant Director in development of student learning plans and monitoring student progress
