Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs & Provost

Responsibilities- Act as LSU’s chief academic officer for the LSU Flagship, overseeing academic colleges, schools, and student support units across the Baton Rouge campus and coordinating academic matters across all institutional components.
- Facilitate academic excellence and student success, promote robust research and scholarly activity, and advance a unified academic and research vision across the full LSU Flagship.
- Coordinate with senior vice chancellors at Pennington Biomedical, LSU Agricultural Center, Health Sciences Center - New Orleans, and Health Sciences Center – Shreveport to foster alignment of academic strategy, research priorities, and educational outcomes.
- Translate University goals into coherent academic and student success execution, ensuring collaboration, shared governance, and disciplined coordination.
- Serve as the academic "connective tissue" for the new LSU Flagship, strengthening academic quality and supporting faculty and students.
- Hold a doctorate or equivalent terminal degree.
- Possess a record of distinguished scholarship and teaching at a Carnegie Foundation "Research 1:
Very High Spending and Doctorate Production" institution. - Have experience at the dean level or higher at a Research 1 institution and have overseen major academic units with responsibility for managing faculty with research duties.
- Demonstrate ability to operate and lead within a large, complex public research university, craft and communicate a strategic vision, and execute with operational discipline.
- Show managerial skill necessary to lead across multiple campuses, missions, and constituencies.
