Education Consultant -AAA

Education Consultant 3 is located in the Office of Assessments, Accountability, and Analytics (AAA) in the division of Data Strategy & Governance (DSG) and reports to a classified Education Consultant Supervisor. The person will be responsible for educator workforce reporting and analysis, coordinating data management for the teacher preparation accountability system, and preparing federal and state mandated reports, studies, and presentations.

The position serves as a liaison to other offices within the Louisiana Department of Education with related work. Preferred candidates should have strong project management and analytical skills, experience collaborating across functional teams, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and experience leading professional development. Preference will be given to those with an intermediate to advanced ability to use programs to analyze data.

• Seven years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services
• Six years of full‑time work experience plus four years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services
• Bachelor’s degree plus four years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services
• Advanced degree plus three years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services

• Project lead for the annual release of a suite of educator workforce tools, dashboards, and resources to support schools, school systems, and preparation programs in recruiting, training, evaluating, and retaining educators who meet Louisiana's workforce needs.
• Project lead for annual workforce reporting calculations and analysis, producing state and regional Workforce Snapshot Reports; author of the annual state and regional Workforce Snapshot Reports.
• Create all workforce‑related materials, including external and internal FAQs, presentations, and all BESE materials.
• Manage the data verification process for the teacher preparation accountability system.
• Author federal‑ and state‑mandated reports relating to educator workforce.
• Serve as liaison between AAA and the Office of Teaching & Learning to support program leads in determining data strategy based on a thorough understanding of data collection and usage.
• Serve as the educator workforce subject‑matter expert for the LDOE Data Governance Committee.
• Develop business rules for data calculation based on agency goals.

Appointment type:
Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office; current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment if selected.

Career progression:
This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group.

Monday‑Friday; hours to be determined.

Compensation:
The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. The Education Consultant series has a special entrance rate of $28.97 per hour, $2,317.20 biweekly, which is above the minimum hire rate for these positions. The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make over their career and not the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
