The Department of History in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Louisiana State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in 20th Century U.S. history. We especially welcome candidates with expertise in the following fields: capitalism, political history, or political economy; the histories of medicine, science, technology, or the environment; race, ethnicity, or borderlands.
Responsibilities- Teach two courses per semester.
- Assist in the supervision of graduate students in US history.
- Engage in scholarly research and contribute to service within the department and university.
Ph.D. in History or equivalent or related field and evidence of excellence in teaching and scholarship.
Appointment DetailsThe appointment begins August 2027. An offer of employment is contingent on a satisfactory pre-employment background check. Final date to receive applications is October 15, 2026.
