Job DescriptionSCHOOL OVERVIEW
THRIVE is a school unlike any other – one of the first boarding schools in the country serving at-risk students. The mission of THRIVE is to empower students from underserved Louisiana communities and prepare them academically and personally for success in college and beyond. THRIVE aims to reach this goal through a world-class school in a boarding setting. Serving grades seven through twelve, THRIVE will provide the students and families of Louisiana with a never before-seen service – a free public boarding school.
By combining the best educational methods with a 24-hour supportive environment, THRIVE seeks to provide students with a place to learn where nothing can get in the way.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supports all aspects of the Thrive Academy Front Desk including, but not limited to: answering phones, in-person walk-in's, general student and parent inquiries, makes announcements via intercom, updates appropriate databases and communication tools as directed.
- Hires, helps to train and coordinates schedules for substitute teachers.
- Serves as liaison between supervisors and staff members.
- Prepares materials needed for meetings, such as agendas, handouts, binders etc.
- Assesses importance of issues or conflicts with all levels of personnel and possibly students, and briefs appropriate personnel with information and if reasonable, potential options for resolution.
- Takes inventory of office and school supplies and works in conjunction with the Director of Operations on plans to ensure appropriate supplies and correct amounts are ordered.
- Supports attendance calls to students and families.
- Works with behavior interventionist to ensure students are accountable for tardies and absences by providing suggestions for resolution of issues and communicating with stakeholders and parents for support in accountability of plans created.
- Communicates with students and parents on pertinent school updates and information.
- Helps maintain student files for compliance.
- Helps to plan and execute teacher/academic staff team building events.
- Other duties as needed.
Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- 2-5 years experience working in a fast-paced, clerical setting
- Excellent customer services skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong office skills included Microsoft Office Suite and use of copiers
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Punctual and reliable
- Receptive to feedback
- Pleasant, welcoming and professional demeanor
Accountability: This position is accountable to the Head of Schools.
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $35,000 to $45,000 Per Year
