About the PositionGHD has a great opportunity for a Mid‑Level Civil or Environmental Engineer in a Project Environmental Engineering Design and Project Management role, specializing in contaminated sites to support our US Central – Contaminated Site Assessment and Remediation South Team. We work across TX, OK, LA, CO, AR, WY, MT and beyond.
Key Responsibilities- Support strategic pursuits focused on federal sector and private industrial clients.
- Work on a wide variety of environmental remediation projects including permeable reactive barriers, slurry walls, liner/cap/cover, stabilization/solidification, excavation, and more.
- Operate within multi‑disciplinary project teams and provide environmental advice to other GHD teams.
- Collaborate on technical solutions/designs with disciplines such as hydrology, geotechnical, environmental, ecological, estimating, permitting, constructability, and more.
- Remain current on standard methodologies for innovative remediation approaches.
- Manage design projects including budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
- Develop and review technical environmental reports, drawings, specifications, and proposals.
- Opportunity to work on local, national, and global projects; occasional travel to support other GHD office locations.
- Support and mentor junior team members in a learning and collaborative atmosphere.
- Manage subcontractors and fieldwork.
- Civil or environmental engineering degree.
- P.E. registration required, or ability to obtain registration within 6 months in selected US Central South states.
- 5+ years of progressive experience.
- Experience developing and implementing strategies for complex remediation and/or risk management projects.
- Technical delivery of investigations, designs (drawings and specifications), and construction support for environmental remediation projects.
- Ability to provide high‑profile clients with responsive and innovative solutions.
- Experience on both US Federal and private projects is an asset.
- Proven client advocacy and trusted relationship building with regulators and contractors.
- Understanding of US environmental regulations.
- Excellent communication (verbal, written) and report‑writing skills.
- Strong commitment to client service excellence.
- Initiative‑taking.
