Mechanical Engineer Job Description
We are seeking talented Mechanical Engineers at various career stages to join our dynamic engineering team. This onsite role involves designing, analyzing, and developing mechanical and electromechanical components, including compressors, fans, pumps, valves, electric motors, and integrated control systems for vapor cycle and propulsion platforms. Responsibilities will vary based on experience level and include mechanical design, CAD modeling, and system‑level development within our Environmental Control and Power Systems divisions.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using Solid Works, including PDM vault management.
Design mechanical components and systems in compliance with customer, aerospace, and military specifications.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with electrical, software, and systems engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs within complex assemblies.
Perform structural, thermal, and fluid analyses using FEA, CFD, and other simulation tools (ANSYS / Solid Works).
Support prototype builds, instrumentation, verification, and qualification testing.
Design tooling and fixtures; address fabrication and assembly challenges; and ensure designs are manufacturable and compliant with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality standards.
Prepare and maintain engineering drawings, test procedures, and technical reports.
Ensure design control and documentation align with MIL-STD requirements and customer specifications.
Participate in design reviews, root‑cause analyses, and process improvement initiatives.
Contribute to technical excellence through collaboration, innovation, and best engineering practices.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
5+ years of experience as an Engineer.
Proficiency in GD&T, Solid Works, and project management.
Experience with vacuum pump systems, compressors, and machine design.
Expertise in mechanical design, CAD, analysis, and project engineering.
Skills & Qualifications
Experience in new product development, engineering drafting, and 3D modeling.
Understanding of BOM and project management processes.
Familiarity with PDM vault management and MIL-STD requirements.
This is a Permanent position based out of Baton Rouge, LA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
