Our Baton Rouge Risk Assessment, Remediation and Waste team is seeking an Environmental Specialist who is ready to build technical expertise, gain hands on experience, and contribute to projects that make a real impact.
This role offers a blend of field and office work, exposure to a variety of environmental projects, and the opportunity to learn directly from Professional Geologists, Professional Engineers, and senior technical staff.
You will support a range of environmental projects while developing a strong technical foundation and understanding of consulting practices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Participate in field investigations including soil, sediment, groundwater, and surface water sampling
- Assist with aquifer testing, drilling oversight, soil logging, monitoring well installation, well development, purging, and sampling
- Support remediation activities and field implementation efforts
- Participate in Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments
- Assist in data interpretation and preparation of figures, data tables, work plans, and technical reports
- Support solid and hazardous waste permitting efforts
- Travel to project sites and collaborate with other CK offices as needed

What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, Chemistry, or related field
- Environmental consulting experience is preferred but not required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across teams
- Willingness to travel approximately 25 percent, including occasional overnight stays, and adjust to project schedules
- Experience with AutoCAD or ArcGIS is a plus
- Ability to meet health, safety, and security requirements, including obtaining a Transportation Worker Identification Credential
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to safely operate a full size pickup truck
- A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and desire to grow both individually and as part of a team
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions when needed
- Ability to lift and carry equipment and samples up to 50 pounds
- Ability to perform field tasks using tools such as shovels and hand augers
