Salary: $75,000 - $120,000 per year
A bit about us:
We are an independently owned and operated authorized distributor and service center for a globally recognized fluid system products brand - one that has remained family owned for decades and built a reputation for quality, precision, and integrity. We serve customers across Louisiana, portions of Mississippi, and select international markets in industries including oil and gas, refining, chemical, midstream, power, and transportation.
Our team of associates has grown steadily over the past three years as demand for our products and engineered solutions has increased. We operate with the values and culture of a family business: low turnover, high engagement, and genuine care for the people who work here.
Why join us?
- Your work is visible from day one - small team means big impact, not a cog in a machine
- Autonomy and trust - leadership knows your name, values your judgment, and gets out of your way
- Stability with growth - the company has expanded significantly in recent years and isn't slowing down, but the culture has stayed intact
- Rare combination of a family-owned feel with the backing and brand recognition of a globally trusted name in fluid systems
- A culture people actually stay in - low turnover, genuine camaraderie, and leadership that invests in its people through events, bonuses, and real recognition
We are looking for an adaptable, solution-focused Application Engineer to join our engineering team in Baton Rouge. This is an on-site role embedded in a small, collaborative shop environment where speed, accuracy, and good judgment matter. You will work closely with customers and internal teams to design and deliver practical fluid system solutions across a range of industrial applications.
This is not a corporate role. We move fast, get quotes out the door, and solve problems with what we have. If you thrive in an environment where your work is visible, your judgment is trusted, and getting things done is valued over getting things perfect, this is the role.
What You'll Do
- Design fluid system solutions and select products that meet customer, application, and industry requirements
- Interpret customer drawings, schematics, P&IDs, blueprints, and related technical documents
- Prepare quotes, drawings, schematics, and supporting documentation for engineered solutions and fabricated assemblies
- Partner with customers, sales, field engineering, and internal teams to deliver compliant, practical solutions
- Support fabrication and order fulfillment by answering technical questions and resolving production issues
- Provide technical support for customer meetings, project pursuits, and solution presentations as needed
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and the parent brand's corporate team to support accurate design handoff and project execution
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, electrical, or related engineering field preferred; equivalent technical experience will be considered
- 2-5 years of experience in applications engineering, system design, or design for manufacturing/assembly; senior candidates will also be considered
- Solid Works required - this is a non-negotiable; CAD experience alone is not sufficient
- Background in oil and gas, petrochemical, chemical, refining, or industrial process environments strongly preferred; experience with valves, fittings, or mechanical seals translates well
- Strong mechanical aptitude, drafting skills, and problem-solving ability
- Ability to work with urgency in a fast-paced shop environment - must be comfortable with a "good enough to ship" mindset when timing matters
- Familiarity with quality systems and ISO standards is a plus
- Must be local to Baton Rouge; no sponsorship available
- Competitive salary plus quarterly operational bonus (paid consistently since 2019)
- PTO
- Blue Cross Blue Shield, dental, disability
- 401(k) with company match
- paid holidays plus full week off at Christmas
- Referral program, associate awards, and company events
- A warm, no-drama culture where people are respected and tenure is valued
