Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Transportation Engineer in our Central Region to join a high‑performing team working on complex transport challenges.
Responsibilities- Conducting and preparing a variety of transportation analyses and traffic impact studies, including traffic impact analysis, traffic signal warrant analysis, intersection design studies, safety studies, bicycle, and pedestrian planning studies.
- Conducting field reviews and assessing existing conditions.
- Developing design traffic and existing/future traffic conditions.
- Performing capacity/LOS and corridor feasibility studies.
- Executing operational analyses and traffic simulations.
- Designing and optimizing signal timing.
- Applying access management principles to improve corridor operations.
- Performing historical crash reviews and advanced safety analyses.
- Developing and evaluating multimodal alternatives.
- Recommending improvements and innovations.
- Preparing high‑quality technical reports, memorandums, and project documentation.
- Assisting/leading traffic signal designs and concept plan development.
- Responsible for business development and marketing activities, proposal writing, and maintaining client relations.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related degree.
- Minimum 5 years transportation engineering experience.
- Professional Engineering License desired.
- Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification desired.
- Experience completing Traffic Impact Studies is required.
- Familiarity with HCS, Synchro/Sim Traffic, and SIDRA/RODEL traffic capacity analysis software.
- Familiarity with Micro Station and AutoCAD Civil3D and ability to become proficient.
- Strong teammate; ability to work independently, and cooperative in open sharing of information and knowledge with the team.
- Good time‑management skills; ability to handle conflicting priorities and work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Attention to detail and ability to complete diverse assignments.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to meet challenging deadlines.
- 401(k) – Eligible employees may participate on the first day of the month following 3 months of service.
