As a Maintenance Mechanic
, you’ll join a collaborative team ensuring that our clients can deliver their services – uninterrupted. Based in Baton Rouge, LA (North Plant) you’ll lead complex mechanical repairs and mentoring programs. In this role, you will also coordinate with operations and engineering. Your expertise will contribute to the safe and efficient operation of facilities, empowering communities to thrive.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and perform complex mechanical repairs, major equipment overhauls, and corrective maintenance activities
  • Provide preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, valves, motors, and other mechanical and operating equipment throughout the plant
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and conduct root cause failure analysis to improve reliability and performance
  • Plan, schedule, and prioritize maintenance work to minimize downtime and support continuous operations
  • Mentor and train junior mechanics, promoting safe work practices and technical skill development
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with operations, engineering, vendors, and contractors to ensure efficient execution of work
Here’s what you’ll need
  • 5–10+ years in mechanical maintenance within an industrial, municipal, or plant environment
  • Experience using CMMS systems for work order management, maintenance planning, and scheduling
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems and their application in plant operations
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
Ideally, you'll have
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems, including pumps, valves, motors, and other rotating and operating equipment
  • Trade certifications or formal mechanical training related to industrial maintenance or rotating equipment

The base salary range for this position is $48,300.00 to $70,720.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Onsite employees are expected to attend a Jacobs Workplace on a full-time basis, as required by the nature of their role.
