Lead Electrical Engineer – Baton Rouge, LA
Full-time, exempt position. Salary commensurate with qualifications. 10% travel required. Minimum 5+ years of experience.
Responsibilities- Lead all aspects of low, medium, and high voltage power distribution system design and implementation for commercial, industrial, and utility facilities.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and proposals, ensuring compliance with code requirements and client expectations.
- Prepare, review, and approve design documents, drawings, bills of materials, and field data collection.
- Conduct power system studies, including short‑circuit, coordination, arc‑flash, harmonic, and load‑flow analyses.
- Specify and select equipment, verify contractor installation quality, and perform contract and vendor interface activities.
- Program and configure protection relays, HMIs, PLCs, and communication protocols (IEC 61850, Modbus, DNP3, etc.).
- Lead commissioning, site acceptance testing, and startup supervision of power systems.
- Provide technical advice during pre‑sale engineering consulting and guide partner and client engagements.
- Develop system integration plans and supervise the integration of SCADA, E‑SADA, and other monitoring platforms.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related field.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in Louisiana preferred.
- 5+ years of hands‑on electrical engineering experience in power distribution.
- Strong knowledge of NEC code and power system design.
- Experience with switch gear, substation design, arc‑flash analysis, protection coordination, and SCADA integration.
- Proficient with ETAP, ION Enterprise, Struxureware, Wonderware, and related software.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel 10% of time.
- Must pass a drug and alcohol screening and meet client site access requirements.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S.; sponsorship is not available.
