A growing engineering and industrial services organization is seeking an Electrical Designer to support the design and development of electrical systems for industrial facilities and capital projects. This role involves preparing electrical design documentation, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting projects through various phases of execution.
Key Responsibilities- Create and maintain electrical design documents, including one‑line diagrams, load lists, panel schedules, power distribution drawings, lighting layouts, grounding plans, and cable schedules.
- Develop electrical equipment layouts, conduit routing, and cable tray designs.
- Utilize AutoCAD and related design software to prepare accurate engineering drawings.
- Review and interpret process diagrams, electrical drawings, equipment layouts, and vendor documentation.
- Assist with electrical calculations such as load analysis, voltage drop, and conduit fill calculations.
- Coordinate design activities with engineering, operations, and construction teams.
- Support field data collection, site verification, drawing updates, and as‑built documentation.
- Assist with material take‑offs, project planning, and schedule coordination.
- Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in Electrical Design, Drafting, Electrical Technology, or a related discipline.
- Experience supporting electrical design projects in industrial, manufacturing, energy, chemical processing, or similar environments.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, process diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and industry standards.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites when required.
- Experience with 3D design and modeling software such as CADWorx, Navisworks, or similar platforms.
- Experience supporting projects from design through construction and commissioning phases.
