Waggoner Engineering, Inc. is hiring a Director of Water Resources. The role involves project work and technical tasks on projects.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary:
Competitive, commensurate with experience
Signing Bonus: $10,000, payable within 30 days of start date
Clawback:
Repay signing bonus if voluntarily resign or terminated for cause within 12 months of start date

Responsibilities

Serve as technical lead in delivering services in the water resources discipline.
Assist project managers and CAMs with technical scope, budget, and schedule.
Manage personnel: hire, discipline, and conduct annual performance reviews.
Ensure client quality expectations are met.
Mentor and develop staff.
Lead discipline growth: stay current on trends, define necessary equipment/software, identify new opportunities, collaborate with business development and marketing, develop marketing/sales plans, and propose strategies.

Hydraulic Modeling (HEC‑RAS 1D/2D and LA DOTD HydroWIN, FHWA HY‑8 and Hydraulic Toolbox minimum)
Comprehensive Planning
Design of Hydraulic Structures
Floodplain Mapping
FEMA Regulatory Modeling and Floodplain Management

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s or equivalent desired.
Minimum 8 years of experience.
Five years of direct client interaction and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
Five years supervisory experience.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Louisiana required, or ability to obtain licensure within 4 months of hire.
