Senior Project Engineer

Sr. Project Engineer to provide process execution of capital projects, max project $15 MM. The Project Engineer will work independently or lead a project team. This position is on a 9/80 schedule.

• Recognize reasonable alternatives to project scope proposals and be able to communicate alternatives in an effective manner.
• Specify equipment including, but not limited to: boilers, compressors, heat exchangers, generators, cooling towers, precipitators, converters, furnaces, tanks, and pumps.
• Perform hydraulic calculations for non-compressible and compressible fluids.
• Size project components such as piping, ducting, valves, pumps.
• Perform heat transfer calculations for equipment.
• Develop specification sheets for equipment for use in capital project procurement.
• Develop PFDs and P&IDs for new or modified operations.
• Develop operational and/or functional statements in coordination with Controls Engineer.
• Plan, coordinate, and actively participate in PHAs.
• Arrange testing (NDE/NDT) as part of equipment reliability strategies and during new asset installations.
• Ensure API standards are being followed.
• Manage, schedule, and coordinate all assigned capital projects.
• Develop, justify, and submit project scopes and cost estimates.
• Manage project budgets via tracking and forecasting project costs.
• Manage projects in the field during construction, including during unit turnarounds.
• Maintain document control of all project files throughout project duration.
• Ensure project compliance with applicable codes, laws, policies, and technical specifications.

• Must have Bachelor of Science in Mechanical engineering
• Min of 10 plus years of relevant industry experience.
• Must have excellent written and oral communications skills.
• Must be able to analyze, troubleshoot, and solve problems.
• Must have experience in using and developing engineering spreadsheets/calculations.
