Capital Mega Projects Manager

Job Summary

This position is a Project Management Subject Matter Expert supporting and managing large‑scale projects valued between $250 million and $1.5 billion. The role is site‑based near Baton Rouge, Pointe Coupee Parish, Louisiana, requiring full‑time presence at the project site.

• Define project organization structure and technical skill requirements, collaborating with Entergy management to assemble the project team.
• Coordinate with all functional departments to meet corporate standards and guidelines.
• Oversee project team activities and navigate the Entergy Stage Gate process to meet SGP requirements and deliverables.
• Develop and maintain the Project Execution Plan (PEP) and execute the project in adherence to this plan.
• Implement project controls for scope, schedule, quality, cost, cash flow, risk, contracts, and communications.
• Serve as Contract Manager or Owner’s Representative as defined in contracts, administer the contract and issue formal correspondence to contractors.
• Promote safe behavior, ensuring contract scope includes necessary safety deliverables and requirements.
• Monitor contractor performance in safety, schedule, cost, quality, and contractual compliance.
• Identify, communicate, and take prompt action on issues that could impact project performance.
• Provide clear, timely, and accurate project status reports and presentations to management.
• Deliver projects with cost and schedule certainty, managing and controlling costs while mitigating risks.
• Turn over completed project equipment or systems to the owner with all documentation, training, and instructions.
• Perform work in office and field conditions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Advanced degree preferred.

• 10 years of experience in Project Management, Construction Management, Electric Utility Industry, or related field.
• Field experience preferred.

• Subject Matter Expert in project and construction management fundamentals and complex problem resolution.
• Knowledge of engineering science and technology application to transmission lines and substations.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and active involvement in safety initiatives.
• Supervisory experience with direct reports or in matrix organization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management applications, processes, software, and equipment.
• Understanding of industry best practices and effective estimating practices.
• Cross‑functional project leadership experience, team performance skills, service mindset, and trusted advisor capability.

• Desired: PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
