Purpose:

The Fired Equipment Engineer designs, develops, implements and analyzes technical products and systems. POC for fired equipment support and escalations;
Troubleshooting issues, planning turnaround and equipment strategy.

This position is located onsite Baton Rouge, LA in a refinery environment - 30% field, 70% in office (per diem/living allowance may be offered for candidates that live 100+ miles from Baton Rouge, LA). The anticipated role duration is one year with possibility of extension.

Schedule:

M-F 40-hour work schedule with potential overtime as needed upon client request and approval, no travel required.

Responsibilities:

* The Equipment Engineer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems.

* Performs equipment engineering design evaluations.

* May develop a range of products.

* Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.

* Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

* Performs a variety of complicated tasks.

* A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

What you will bring

Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:

* 8+ years of industry experience with 3+ years fire equipment experience with heaters, boilers, flares; operation and project delivery background.

* Proficient in fired simulation software and Microsoft Office.

* Demonstrates effective communication across several teams; displays initiative with juggling several priorities with tight deadlines.

* Strong knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within particular field.

* Anticipates & solves problems by integrating knowledge from a number of areas.

* Less reliant on supervisor, but may report to a supervisor or manager.

* Responsible for owning projects.

* Represents local workgroup internally and on occasion, externally

Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:

* Bachelor's in mechanical or chemical engineering.
